Celebrating Five Years of Relationships & Industry Connections

Some of the best opportunities in our industry don’t happen in meeting rooms. They happen over conversations, shared experiences and introductions that turn into lasting professional relationships.

Five years ago, AET set out to create an event built around exactly that idea. A day where clients, project partners, suppliers and friends of the business could step away from their daily routines, spend time together and connect in a more meaningful way.

Today, the AET Shooting Day has become one of the most anticipated dates in our calendar, bringing together a community that continues to grow year after year.

THE FIFTH EDITON

This year marked our fifth edition at the prestigious Holland & Holland Shooting Grounds, bringing together some of the most respected names across the built environment for a day defined by conversation, hospitality, entertainment and genuine relationship building.

Despite torrential rain, transport disruption and tube strikes across London, the spirit of the day never faltered. If anything, overcoming the challenges only reinforced what the event has always been about: bringing people together.

WHY WE DO IT

At AET, relationships have always mattered.

Our business has been built on long-term partnerships, repeat collaborations and trusted connections developed over decades across the property, construction and workplace sectors.

The same philosophy that drives the way we design and deliver future-proof underfloor air conditioning systems also shapes how we engage with the industry around us.

The Shooting Day forms part of a wider commitment to creating opportunities for our network to connect, whether through our sponsorships and partnerships, our SheBuilds series, thought leadership events, industry panels or our annual celebrations.

It is our way of giving something back to the people who support our business and contribute to the projects we are proud to be part of.

A CAREFULLY CURATED COMMUNITY

One of the most unique aspects of the Shooting Day is the guest list itself. Attendance is by invitation only, bringing together a carefully selected mix of developers, architects, consultants, contractors, project managers, suppliers and industry leaders from across the built environment.

The objective is simple: create opportunities for people who might otherwise never meet to build meaningful connections.

Teams are thoughtfully arranged to encourage new introductions and conversations, ensuring guests spend time with both familiar faces and new contacts throughout the day.

Time and again, attendees tell us that the relationships formed at the Shooting Day continue long after the event itself, leading to future collaborations, business opportunities and lasting friendships.

As one guest reflected:

“Above all, I met some really great people who I will genuinely cross paths in the industry. It’s so great to come away feeling like the fun day off work was also genuinely valuable to building my network. You’ve curated such a fantastic and inspiring group of people.”

For us, that is exactly the point.

A DAY BEYOND EXPECTATIONS

The fifth edition of the AET Shooting Day was our most ambitious yet.

Guests arrived throughout the morning via private shuttle services before gathering for breakfast, freshly baked pastries and coffee ahead of the day’s activities.

Following safety briefings and team announcements, they headed to the shooting grounds where experienced instructors from Holland & Holland guided both seasoned shooters and complete beginners through the competition.

As always, the focus was never solely on the shooting itself. The event was designed to encourage conversation, shared experiences and enjoyment, regardless of previous shooting experience.

  • Many thanks again for the invite for the wonderful AET event.
Even a few pesky showers could not hinder it. It all seemed to go smoothly and, better still, I walked away with some prizes! An amazing amount of planning must have gone into it, and congratulations on another terrific event.

Friendly competition, lasting connections

The shooting competition provides the perfect balance of challenge, entertainment and camaraderie.

Across the grounds, teams move between stands, sharing plenty of laughs, friendly competition and memorable moments along the way. For many guests, it is not just about the scorecard but the opportunity to spend time with industry peers and enjoy a day that feels far removed from the usual pace of business.

A fun day away from work, networking!

Throughout the day, live music, entertainment and carefully curated hospitality created an atmosphere that was both relaxed and vibrant.

DJ Tony Perry brought his signature energy to the shooting grounds, providing the soundtrack from the traps through to the afternoon celebrations joined by SIMO Sax on saxophone and the beautiful vocals of Vikki Webb-Medhurst.

At the same time, guests enjoyed everything from sushi and seafood stations to barbecue favourites, premium drinks, champagne, cocktails and indulgent ice cream flavours for dessert!

Every detail was considered to ensure memories were created long after the final scores had been announced.

MAKING IT HAPPEN

Events of this scale do not happen without an incredible team behind them.

We are immensely grateful to the management and events teams at Holland & Holland Shooting Grounds, whose flexibility, professionalism and willingness to embrace our ideas have helped make the AET Shooting Day what it is today.

Their support and collaboration continue to allow us to push boundaries and deliver an experience that reflects the standards we strive for as a business.

A special thank you also goes to ARC Events for their exceptional coordination and logistical support throughout the planning and delivery process, as well as WildAbout for bringing creativity, elegance and impeccable attention to detail across the event styling and floral arrangements.

Together, they helped transform a challenging day of weather and travel disruption into one of the most memorable editions to date.
