The Candleriggs Square development in Glasgow’s Merchant City represents the future of urban living, blending innovative design with functional spaces. Central to this landmark project is The Student Hotel (TSH), a 500-room complex offering a unique hybrid model of co-living, co-working, and hospitality.

AET was thrilled to work in Glasgow, contributing to this visionary project with our cutting-edge underfloor air conditioning (UfAC) systems. The 205 sq. m. office space within the development spans two mezzanine levels — upper and lower — and our UfAC system was chosen to maximise floor-to-ceiling heights while ensuring optimal climate control.

The AET Role

The system includes two CAM—C15 floor supply, low-level return upflow units. Conditioned air is delivered through 25 slimline TU3 Fantile™ units, perfectly suited for the reduced 180mm floor void (210mm FFL), and 16 passive return air grilles facilitate efficient airflow.

The upper mezzanine floor comprises five cellular office spaces served by 17 Fantiles™, while the open-plan lower floor is supported by 8 Fantiles™. This advanced climate control solution provides comfort, flexibility, and sustainability, meeting the demands of a modern workspace within this exciting new development.
